Dumoine River Packrafting Adventure

The Dumoine River in Quebec is one of the ‘three sisters’ rivers, renowned for its scenic beauty and thrilling whitewater. On this trip our experienced guides will help introduce you to the excitement of packrafting on a wilderness river, providing instruction and support to allow for an exhilarating on water experience and a relaxing time in camp. Our Dumoine River trip involves little portaging and lots of rapids with plenty of down time!

Day 1 Itinerary: We meet at 9 a.m. After get-to-know you’s and an initial gear sort, we pack up the shuttle transport and head to the put-in. After our arrival we will have a riverside lunch as we learn the process of packing our rafts and prepare for our first paddle. After some introductory safety and paddling skills training and a couple of hours on water travel, we will make camp for the night.

Day 2-4 Itinerary: Each day our routine will vary slightly depending on the distance and rapids ahead - but we will start every morning with a leisurely breakfast of yummy food with coffee and tea. A couple of hours on water in the late morning followed by lunch. After lunch there will be the opportunity for a swim before we resume paddling, taking in the scenery and navigating the rapids we encounter. Making camp in the mid-late afternoon the guides will prepare snacks and hot drinks while you dry off and set up your tents and personal gear. Relax, sit by the fire, swim, read - the evenings are all yours to do with as you choose.

Day 5 Itinerary: Our final day of paddling will involve some farewell moments as we prepare to end our journey and go our seperate ways. Length of travel will vary. Once we arrive at the takeout the guides will assist in a final gear sort as you pack up your personal items for the journey home.

What’s Included:

  • All meals from lunch on day 1 to lunch on day 5.

  • All necessary packraft and river gear: packraft, life jacket, helmet, wetsuit, paddle, river safety kit, dry bags for packing your gear.

  • Professional guides trained in river travel, wilderness safety, and first aid.

  • On water instruction.

  • Group camping equipment: stoves and cookware, tents, thermarests, camp shower, hand wash station, camp chairs, rain shelters, emergency communication devices.

  • Shuttle transportation to the put-in.

What’s Not Included:

  • Transportation to/from our meeting point.

  • Personal items and clothing, sleeping bags.
